While many photographers are fascinated by the natural landscape I have always found the man made environment more interesting, with it's regular shapes, structures, and lines. Most interesting of all to me are public spaces, modern office and industrial buildings, and even Supermarkets. All of these provide the opportunity for clean and simple architectural images. The New Topographics movement of the 1970's has been an influence, and I can see the ever increasing encroachment of man made structures on the natural landscape as the human population grows. Images of this new expansion fascinate me, ironically without the inclusion of the human figures who have created it.
